Migration of the USA Embassy - The Hague, The Netherlands

The embassy of the United States, located in the centre of the Hague, is for some years now in need of extra physical protection due to higher security demands. As a result extra space is claimed of the public street, leading to discomfort for the users of that area. A new location is sought for the embassy to solve this problem. From the available options a location in Wassenaar is chosen as most suitable. Studies are made how to fit in the
program on the location, which boundary conditions have to be made and how to deal with the existing program on the location.

The project is executed in cooperation with the U.S. department of state OBO and the municipality of Wassenaar. In July 2006 agreement is achieved on the purchase of ground at the location in Wassenaar.
