COP in Bogotá - Bogotá, Colombia

COP in Bogotá is an initiative of young people, who want to learn and teach about international negotiations on climate change at the COP (Conference of the Parties), to take actions, to support solutions in dealing with climate change and to make their proposals heard, which, as a result of this activity, are actually presented at the United Nations.

This event is part of the COP in My City initiative, a project of the international organization CliMates and is led by students of Saint George's School in Bogotá together with Clic! (Latin American youth movement on climate change). 

Students of public and private schools in Bogotá meet during 2 or 3 days and debate in the different commissions like Technology Transfers, Financing, Mitigation and Adaptation and attend important conferences on climate change by experts.

The last part of the event is a “Mobilization”, in which the students plant a tree.
